A liqueur made with cardamom, known as the "King of Spices" and one of the oldest spices in the world. Born from a unique request: "Create a shochu that pairs perfectly with curry using curry spices." Simply adding cardamom to shochu didn't extract the aroma and flavor well, so after seven trials, the recipe was perfected. The base rice shochu was specially crafted for this product. The name comes from a mysterious event-the night before completion, a white, shining snake appeared beside the tank. Enjoy the elegant, refreshing aroma of cardamom for a truly delightful moment. Serving Suggestion: Best enjoyed with soda (recommended ratio: shochu 1 : soda 3). Perfect with curry and spice-rich ethnic dishes. Pairs beautifully with grilled chicken seasoned with shichimi or sansho, and other meat dishes. Highly popular at izakayas serving yakitori. Also excellent with sweet soy-glazed grilled eel. Founded in 1894 (Meiji 27) by Tsurumatsu Toyonaga in Yunomae, Kuma District, Toyonaga Shuzo began with its own rice fields, brewing shochu using rice they cultivated themselves. Their first product, "Miyakotsuru," was named after the Miyako River, a tributary of the Kuma River. 125 years later, under the leadership of fourth-generation owner Shiro Toyonaga, the brewery deepened its founding philosophy and, since 1986, has pursued sustainable agriculture and brewing. This commitment led to the creation of "Toyonaga-gura," centered on organic shochu made from certified organic Kuma rice. In wine, the concept of "terroir"-soil, climate, and local character-is well known. Toyonaga Shuzo applies the same principle, crafting shochu rooted in Kuma's terroir: local ingredients, pure Kuma water, and the hands of Kuma's people. Together with contracted local farmers, the brewery cultivates organic raw materials and produces shochu that reflects the region's identity. Toyonaga Shuzo's organic shochu uses only locally grown, JAS-certified organic ingredients. Each batch is carefully brewed by skilled artisans, inheriting 500 years of Kuma shochu tradition, resulting in a natural, pure flavor.
