Brewery introduction
Kankiku-Meijo Co., Ltd.
Our company is located in a mild, green-rich area on the outskirts of Tokyo, close to Kujukuri Beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In 1883, our founder, Gensaku Sase, began brewing clean, dry sake using the region's underground spring water and abundant rice. For over 130 years, supported by many people, we have upheld our philosophy of crafting sake that "fills the hearts of those who drink it." To date, we have continued to improve quality by connecting traditional techniques with the needs of modern customers, producing and selling 21 varieties across 5 main sake brands, as well as shochu. Moving forward, while remaining committed to the food culture of Kujukuri, the techniques we have inherited, and the flavors that have long been loved, we will continue striving to become a brand cherished not only throughout Japan but around the world. With gratitude, we will keep listening to the voices of our customers and business partners, and take on new challenges so that people can discover new ways to appreciate the appeal of our sake.
