Brewery introduction
suginomori brewery
Founded in 1793, Japan's highest-altitude sake brewery, which had been dormant since 2012, was revived in 2021 as "suginomori brewery." The brand name "narai" originates from Narai-juku, the historic post town where the brewery is located. In 2021, Masayuki Irie, who previously worked as a brewer at Fukuchiyo Shuzo (Saga) and Matsumoto Shuzo (Kyoto), joined as Toji (master brewer). The brewing advisor is Hidehiko Matsumoto, former Toji of Matsumoto Shuzo.
