Brewery introduction
Okazaki Brewery Corporation.
Since its founding in 1665 (the 5th year of Kanbun), our brewery has been producing sake along the historic Hokkokukaido road. The name Kirei, meaning "Longevity" and inspired by the proverb "Cranes live a thousand years, turtles ten thousand," has been carried on since our establishment. Cherishing the rice, water, and natural environment of Shinshu, we have begun contract cultivation with the Inakura terraced rice fields in Ueda City, and actively support preservation of the local landscape. Our brewery stands on what is now known as "Fermentation Street," home to many shops specializing in fermented foods and a well-known sightseeing spot in Ueda. In recent years, we have received numerous awards both in Japan and abroad, including at the Japan Sake Awards, the Kanto-Shinetsu Regional Sake Competition, and the International Wine Challenge (IWC) Sake Division.
