Brewery introduction
Michizakura Shuzou
Founded in 1877 (Meiji 10), Mitchizakura Shuzo has walked a 143-year history in Nakatsugawa, Gifu. On November 7, 2020, it began a new chapter as Higashikawa Town Public Brewery - Mitchizakura Shuzo, the first sake brewery in Higashikawa, Hokkaido. Our mission is not only to craft sake loved by the local community but also to create sake that Higashikawa can proudly share across Japan and the world. "Be a brewery that lasts 100 years." This is what we have been taught by our predecessors. Here in our new home in Higashikawa, we aspire to be a brewery that endures for 100, even 1,000 years. With that spirit, we pour all the skills and soul cultivated in Nakatsugawa into every drop, continuing to create sake that is unmistakably Mitchizakura.
